Still in download library but when i press the open containing folder, there is nothing? Not even in the default 'Download' folder it says it is at. Gosh. Didn't realize firefox is this dumb to not save the file and just opens it once finish downloading. FML.

hi, there are two possibilities in the firefox download dialog: save and open.

save will put the file in your designated download folder, while open downloads the file to the temporary folder of your operating system, opens it with the associated application, but windows will clear this file after you reboot or delete your temporary files in another fashion.

I agree that you have to be careful as the "Open with: " can easily be selected instead of "Save File".
