Hi. I merged mails in Word 2016 with Excel 2016 for mass mailing. When i merge with Thunderbird for sending, Thunderbird removes all lines breaks. Version 53.0b2 (32-bit). On version 38.x everything was normal.

This is an issue with Word using its own type of coding for documents, not the standard coding. Microsoft does this intentionally to discourage people from using non-Microsoft products.

There are five routes to dealing with this (and probably more): 1. Use Word, Excel, and Outlook. 2. Use Word, but save the file as plain text, use Excel, and Thunderbird. 3. Use a plain text editor (like Notepad), use Excel, and Thunderbird. 4. Use a saner word processing program, like OpenOffice.org Write, OOo Calc, and Thunderbird. 5. Use just Thunderbird, with the Mail Merge add-on.
