Looping attachment message when sending emails

When I try to send an email, a dialog box would appear. It says, "Attaching", along with a progress bar that constantly loops without ever sending the email. Also, note that I am not trying to send an attachment, but I do have a .html inserted as a signature which is saved in the correct location on the hard drive. I am using Thunderbird version 45.7.1, POP3 as the server type. The server is managed by our company.

Instead of using an HTML file for the signature, try pasting the HTML code from the file into the "Signature text" section of the Account Settings (make sure you select "Use HTML"). See if that makes a difference.

If that works, then you should then probably test to see if sending a regular attachment also causes this problem. If so, that issue will have to be addressed.
