When using firefox on my work computer, the browser window will turn completely black alongside all the tabs open with it. I have to completely shutdown and reopen firefox to resolve the issue. But i realized this is because my work computer only has 3GB of ram and when maxed out, results in the black screen.

Recently though with the version 54 update, the same black screen issue is happening on my home computer. Even though it has 16gb of ram and not even close to maxing out. The browser doesn't crash on it's own and i have to close it myself, so it doesn't generate a crash report. What may be causing this?

Several have reported issues with v54.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
