The "enter" key does not work in the address bar when search suggestions are turned off. How do I restore "enter" key function with the suggestions turned off?

Please don't post the generic reply about restarting in safe mode, etc. did all that. Above link explains in detail the problem.

Try to set browser.urlbar.maxRichResults to 0 instead and leave browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled set to true by at least enabling one suggestion (e.g. open tabs).

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Thanks for the quick reply, but that didn't work. I still get autocomplete results. Fewer than before, but still getting them.
