Every time I convert a video to mp3 or mp4 and then download it, the file will automatically open and play. How can I stop it from automatically opening and playing.

Many thanks.

If the above doesn't handle your specific downloads:

Is the media opening in its own tab? Firefox calls that the "stand alone" player and you can disable the stand-alone player if you do not need it for other purposes. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste stand and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the media.play-stand-alone preference to switch the value from true to false
