I received an 8MB attachment (with no message body). Using webmail, the attachment is present and not corrupted.

In Thunderbird v52.5.0 (latest version) on Windows 10, The paperclip icon does not display using View->Message Body As -> Original HTML. The paperclip icon and regular functionality operates when View->Message Body As -> Plain Text is used.

I'm guessing that this is an "oops" when there is a null message body and an attachment, HTML display is... confused.

My guess if there is no body part in HTML then the email is actually not compliant with the multi part mime standard. So with a corrupt email anything is possible.
