Hi, I've been a loyal Firefox user up until recently. On a fresh install of windows, Firefox appears to be infected with malware. Sometimes on opening the browser my AV program (avast) blocks Firefox from opening a malware infested link. Firefox appears to block these same links natively as well using its own pop up blocker. One such tab asks me to manually download an update for Firefox and will not let me close the tab as it keeps creating dialogue boxes. the only remedy it to close Firefox.

i dont know if this is cause by my data been migrated over using firefox sync. And my pc is completely free of malware and antiviruses, save for when firefox appears to download them. Avast shows the source of the blocked malware urls as the firefox exe program.

I ended up uninstalling unfortunatley as it got to the point where it was un usable.

Has this issue cropped up with any other users?

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks
