On a 16.04.3 LTS Ubuntu desktop I get this error coming up frequently

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Scipt:chrome://browse/content/tabbrowser.xml:482"

The problem is not the web site as I have another operating system running firefox identical down to the add-on and it never gives this error or have any problems. The Ubuntu version of Firefox 59 also closes unexpectedly main after the screen saver lock comes on.

Any Ideas ?

Hi, can try this for the time out : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/warning-unresponsive-script You have send info to Mozilla turned off within Firefox so I have no data to work with. This data as you know as per your Forum Profile is a useful tool. You may need to try in SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""is the issue still there ?

As for the screen saver issue I would suggest looking into the Linux Forum that you use to see if there is reports of the issue. If not : you have a bug, file a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Bug Writing Guidelines : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I have already viewed the web page Scipt:chrome://browse/content/tabbrowser.xml:482"

The web site I used is youtubes "Tiger Lake- Big Cat rescue powered by explore.org. this is a live broadcast.

The view works for a good 30 minutes to an hour and then fails with a message like "gah the tab has crashed". The tested that it is not related to the Screen saver in Ubuntu.
