Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the speed of Firefox 57, but I think the new menu ruins the experience. I tried waiting for an option to restore the old menu to come out, but nothing came. (I'm currently running 60.0.2.) I've also tried looking for a solution online, but there's no fix I could find. Do I have to downgrade back to 56?

Hi if you are looking for the Menu Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar they can be found by going to Customize then page bottom to Toolbars and turn them on or you mouse to the to p of the browser to a empty spot and Right Click and turn on the Menu Bar and or the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You can turn off everything in the New Tab if you do not want that by opening a new tab and going to the gear icon in the right top corner and turn off what ever you do not want.

Hi DrRobotnik91, which menu are you referring to?

You can show the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View...) at the top and that is the same as Firefox 29-56. Use one of these methods to show the toolbar list:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars
On Windows, tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar temporarily.
  • in Customize mode > Toolbars button (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)

To turn on the Menu Bar, click it on the list.

If you meant the graphical menu of large icons that used to open from the button, I'm not aware of any way to restore/customize that menu.

If you meant something else, could you describe it in more detail?

Yeah, I meant for the large icons. It's a shame that Mozilla removed it. I found it to be really convenient.

HI, I do not remember and large icons. You may have used a Extension to do that. https://www.accessfirefox.org/Theme-Font-Size-Changer.php https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/

As well if interested in looking for code and learning a little as well as asking you can try userChrome with over 250million ways to customize firefox :

Yes, the old menu is what I'm looking for.

I'm really sorry that I'm being a bit vague, this is my first time using a forum.

Hi DrRobotnik91, there might be a way to restyle the menu items with larger icons and hide items you never want to see, using custom style rules.

However, there isn't a way to make it customizable, that is, its content is fixed, and you can't add, remove, or move menu items on the new menu.

Is the restyling something you would want to pursue? Not sure how important that is (i.e., how much time you want to invest).

Note that Firefox had this application menu before in a long past when there was still the orange Firefox menu button with a two pane menu list. Classic Theme Restorer had support for this old style menu when it was still compatible.
