Lately Firefox is constantly crashing, freezing and stalling, even after repeated refreshing and a brand new install.

The new Firefox crashes and freezes all the time. After it freezes, I have to close it and then open again. Refreshing or removing & installing the Firefox again doesn't help. I even tried installing a fresh operating system (Windows 7, 32-bit) on my PC, but the trouble persists. I had no such problem with previous version of Firefox, and I have no problems with Internet Explorer either. It's clearly the issue of the new Firefox.

In the brand new install did you remove all FF and mozilla folder before reinstalling it? If you just uninstall what remain in Mozilla folder will be there still.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the report ID of recent crash reports "on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page".

  • click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.
