I included a .txt file, written in English and after it was sent, it showed up in my sent folder as a English email with the attachment as chinese.

I tried sending the attachment several times to myself and it shows chinese. I tried editing the txt files using notepad and other text editors but it still gets encoded in chinese.

The only way it got send properly was to change encoding to Western before hitting the send button. Odd.

File save as in notepad. Make sure the setting in the save as is set to Unicode. Try again :)

I am guessing the text may well have started life in a non Unicode environment (Microsoft office)
