I have 3 thunderbird email accounts. I have successfully installed 2 of them on my new laptop. But when I tried to install kate@cooperantics.coop Thunderbird does not recognise the password. Which I am sure is correct. I am trying to find it in the profiles folder but I can't see any reference to passwords. Please help. Thanks.

To what point is locating the passwords files. `They are encrypted so you will not be able to read them.

Often issues that report an an invalid user name or password are actually caused by your anti virus. In the case of Norton you need to disable Sonar and email checking before the account can test correctly for instance.
