Hey there, I'm using FF 68.0.1 (64-bit) german without Add-ons. After Setting a new download path it the downloadede files will be written to correct Path. After start / restart FF shows shows further the setted path also in about:config but ist uses the default path (C:\ ........). What can I do. Regards Otmar

When you choose to open the file in an external application then the file will always be saved to the OS temp folder (%TMP%, %TEMP%) and control will be passed to the application (Excel). Only when you save the file you will be able to specify the download location (folder).

Hey there, the problem is still but I think we are 1 step forward! The downloaded files was Excel sheets. The results was in normal mode and in safe mode identical as in following descripted. When I'm starting the download a question pops up what FF has to with.. Open with Excel or store. In case I choose store the file will be written to the correct directory otherwise the file will be opend with Excel AND written at the default directory but NOT to the setted directory. I tried with other file typs ex html ... with the identical result. Thanks for your help Regards Otmar

Hey there, as described typed "about:support" => press "copyText to Clipboard" and paste it in anwsering box. Then I got the message that the text is ~ 170 Chars too long. I tried to create a file for uploading, but it was rejected because "no pictures". So I cut the last ~170 chars of the text.

Hey there, many thanks for your help! Your answer explane the functionality of FF (a bit). I didn't know that and never read it befor. I tryed to save writecycles to my C: -Drive because it's a SSD an the speed isn't so importand in that usecases. Many thanks again Regards Otmar
