Registered with Box. Went back to Thunderbird to send email using filelink. A pop up asks me to enter password and allow Thunderbird to access those files in Box. I get an error message indicating "invalid_client" (see screenshot). Went to support at Box and they said I need to ask the question of Mozilla.

Box is broken. That is the short of it.

A new version of box will be in Thunderbird 68, when it is released. it should have been a week ago, so it will be soon. once that occurs, you will need to install the box add-on.

Why the change. Because Thunderbird gets updated about once a year on non security and stability issues. Web sites regularly update their interfaces. and add-on can be updated any time to the new interface so we do not have the current situation going forward.

in the mean time, perhaps one of the other file link providers will work for you. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=filelink.&appver=&platform=
