I use Thunderbird 60.9 I have gmail as my server. I still want to see my gmail via the 'net. Even though I have "unchecked" all the boxes under "server settings" I still get new emails in my Thunderbird inbox.

Some IMAP accounts will still 'push' new messages to the Inbox, even if 'Allow immediate server notifications...' is unchecked. What happens if you right-click the account, Subscribe..., and uncheck (unsubscribe) to Inbox?
