white box comes up after doing a new search - possible iframe

more options

when carrying out a search this white box appears that I think maybe an iframe. It cannot be removed and therefore I cannot click on any of the links in search results. I have added the Insect element to show why I think it is iframe related. This has only happened since the latest Firefox update a few weeks ago.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Did not resolve the issue

Is this with many websites, some, a few?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration {web link} in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Did all the above and still happens. It is not a website issue. It is ONLY when I try to do a search - click SEARCH - the page refreshes with search results and up pops this blank window. I can use all webpages stored in my bookmarks or the auto complete. Is is just when doing a new search for something.

What search engine are you using? Have you tried a different engine?

OK, using Google and the fault appears. Using Bing it all works fine.

It is not a single site issue. It appears to be a search engine issue. As it only happens when a I do a new search in Google. Bing works fine.

Hello felipe53,

That search engine happens to be Google, so the site in question is
Google ( https://www.google.com )

This is probably about showing a privacy reminder message as Google sometimes does and that is possibly blocked by an extension or otherwise fails to load.

Hi felipe53, thank you for the screenshot. It does seem to be a consent-related overlay.

Usually if you click something to give a site consent to set cookies (or whatever it is asking), the site will set a cookie indicating you accepted whatever policy was presented so you don't get that box over and over. That lasts until you clear cookies for the site.

It's going to be difficult to set that cookie if the box won't fill in with the form...

Can you load the iframe outside the page using this method:

right-click > This Frame > Open Frame in New Tab
