For email editing, can I create a custom-made key combination to change text colour?

I often insert my answer text in the body of a received email by using a different coloured font. I can achieve what I want by selecting the "Choose colour for text" icon in the toolbar, followed by <Alt + L> then <Enter> which gives me the "Last-picked colour". But it would be useful if I could do it with a single custom-made key-combination - is there a way I can create a macro?
