I didn't see another question that quite addressed this so I'm asking. Thunderbird is always asking for a password when I open up the program. Looking in Privacy and security settings both the incoming and outgoing server have the correct password stored. When I reenter the password into the box things will be fine until I reopen the program and it will ask me for the password again. Is there a way to stop the program from asking for my password constantly?

Try to delete the passwords Thunderbird currently has remembered.

Upon the next start of Thunderbird, enter the password when prompted, and make sure to check the box to remember it.

I get into a loop. Told that my user name and password are not valid. So I get the change password box, type in a new one and save to password manager. Try to log in again and same thing can't get out of the loop.

I had the same problem as charp, and I fixed it by simply typing the password and ticking the box. I did not delete the passwords beforehand.
