I had deleted Firefox from my computer yesterday, but would like to reinstall it. How can I retrieve the bookmarks from the previous version if Firefox had been deleted?

If you deleted the Firefox profile folder in "AppData\Roaming" as well and the files aren't in the Windows Recycle bin then you can only retrieve the bookmarks if you have a backup although you might be lucky and have files as part of a Windows Restore Point or can restore files via an undelete utility if file space hasn't been reused in the meantime.

You can look at a utility to browse System Restore points.

Main profile location in AppData\Roaming:

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\

Thank you for the answer. It looks like my only option left is the ShadowExplorer. The ShadowExplorer utility mentions it only works for Windows Vista. Do you know if it also works for Windows 10?
