the new Firefox mobile doesn't seem to have the ability to save. Htaccess style passwords.

I am running the new mobile Firefox and the password saving functionality is all checked to save passwords in the settings which it does for Norma websites. However websites that use the Apache directory password protection aren't being remembered. The prompt shows up and I can type a username and password but there is no box to check to remember that password.
