When TB is running and on screen, the TB icon in the Windows taskbar has an underline. When TB is minimized, the underline disappears. This is not generally a problem, except when I'm drafting an email and need to minimize it to refer back to an email in TB. The underline appears under the app when both TB and the draft email are minimized, but clicking on the TB taskbar icon will open the draft email only. I have to close the draft email in order to be able to access TB again. Solutions?

From Thunderbird's main window, open Preferences and search for tray. Check if you have the move it to tray option enabled. Disable it to keep it on the Taskbar when minimised.
