It just stopped working, now I can only zoom with Command+ or -, but the wheel is useful since I have a ultrawide monitor and all pages need zooming.

I just saw Firefox 109.0 changed this.... HOW DO I CHANGE IT BACK?

From the 109 Release Notes under Changed: On macOS, Ctrl or Cmd + trackpad or mouse wheel now scrolls the page instead of zooming. This avoids accidental zooming and matches the behavior of other web browsers on macOS.

You can set mousewheel.with_meta.action = 3 to restore the zoom action for the Command modifier.
