Mailfence is free for 14 days as a trial and then becomes a subscription service. You can still use the account in a web page, but not from Thunderbird unless you pay up.

Have you subscribed? I didn't, I just tried it out so I could have an understanding of what it was and how it worked for providing support here. So I got the you can't connect to the server issue
