i recently updated firefox and now when i type into the URL bar it opens ask .com and gives me search results for what ever i was looking for. before i would type facebook into the url bar and it would use google search for facebook and open facebook all in one step with out showing me the google results i really liked not having to type full website names into the url bar but this is a real inconvenience

You can do a search for ask.com on the about:config page and reset all bold user set prefs that have a reference to ask.com to the default value via the right-click context menu.
