Xmarks is shutting down, and they have an export bookmarks button. Can Sync import them so I don't lose all my bookmarks?

Your bookmarks and other data that you possibly store on the XMarks server is still on your computer in the Firefox Profile Folder.
There is only a copy of your data on that server that you can use in case of problems.
So there is no problem if you switch to Firefox Sync to backup your data.
