I am trying to export "bookmarks.html" for another browser but No HTML file is created! How can I fix this?

Bookmarks> Organize bookmarks> ★ Export HTML > "export bookmarks file" window appears. Save as "Bookmarks.HTML" Desktop> NO FILE IS PRODUCED!

Does Firefox create an HTML file (bookmarks.html in the profile folder) on exit if you set the pref browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML to true on the about:config page ?

After tearing my hair out I deleted the 'places.sqlite' files and restarted. That worked though browsing history is gone.
