Can I recover bo0kmarks from some location even if I hadn't used the 'backup bookmark' feature?

My computer crashed and I've had to rebuild it from scratch, but I do have copies of some files from prior to the crash . Is there a location where Firefox stores bookmarks where I may be able to retrieve them from? I still have the previous hard drive and can access it, but it is not bootable.
