I put my laptop in safe mode to see if disabling add-ons was the reason it was so slow and freezing. Now I can't get it out of safe mode. I have tried restarting and checking the target in shortcuts. It didn't work! What should I do?

I have researched what other people struggled with and the suggestions I found, I tried. They didn't work. My icons say that Firefox is in normal mode but the safe mode screen still comes up.

The "Safe Mode" discussed in this form is the Firefox SafeMode, which is different than what you are talking about. See this Firefox support article:
