Problem: Suddenly Firefox Safe Mode icon is in Start menu; no icon on Desktop nor is the program listed in "All Programs", so your article on this does not help. Suggestions?

There aren't many more details. Simply, when I turned on my computer this morning, the Firefox icon was no longer on the desktop. When I looked in the Start menu, it was there, but listed with the words "safe mode." Your article suggests looking in "All Programs" and starting it from there, but it is not even listed there. It is listed in "Add or Remove Programs"

What do you suggest as a next step?

Thanks.

Download a fresh copy of Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html) and do a reinstall of Firefox on top of the current version.

If that doesn't solve the problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
