Firefox normally gives you an option to save sign in details for new sites, however sometimes it does not. Is there a manual way of entering such sign on data to the "tools, options, security" feature? If not why not?

There is an extension that allows to add a new password, but if Firefox doesn't offer to store a password then Firefox probably won't fill a password saved by that extension as well.
