Is there any way to stop Firefox from doing updates? I keep having to learn a new interface. Now my bookmarks have disappeared. Is it time for me to switch back to IE?

I hate the way you keep updating Firefox without asking me. Where did my bookmarks go? Why can't you leave well enough alone?

See the "Configuring update options" section of this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Updating+Firefox

Turning off updates is not recommended as updates contain security fixes and you will be leaving yourself with a browser with known security holes.

As for the bookmarks, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Lost+Bookmarks
