Firefox Button (Windows and Linux) - All your menu items are now found in a single button for easy access.

This is stated on the website as a new feature of ff4, however all my menu items - file, edit, view, history etc. are still in the old format, all separated.

I am using Windows 7 and have restarted my comp to see if that would help.

Any advice? Cheers.

To get the new style UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.

If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

Turn off the file menu toolbar, that should solve your problem

  • Use keyboard keys Alt then in turn press V, T, M

That should display the Firefox Button. Note the alt key may still be used to temporarily redisplay the file menu toolbar in Windows even if the Firefox Button is displayed.

May I also ask

  1. what version or versions of Firefox you were using immediately before changing to Firefox 4.
  2. Would you know if you were using any Beta versions.

Mac user... just updated to FF4. Can't even find "Menu Bar" among options in drop down box after View>Toolbars. Not to be found in "customize" or elsewhere. Suggestions about how to get the orange Firefox? Thank you.  :)

The Firefox button is not available on the Mac due to the way that the Mac handles menus.
