How can I permently save a session to be my default state?
When working on a project I will typically have a number of tabs open to specific web sites. I would like to save this entire set of tabs as a session and reload that session at will. The "restore previous session" feature comes so close. Is there a way to use the saved session profile to accomplish the above?

You can save those set of tabs as your home pages and have Firefox open with your home pages.
- Open up the tabs that you want, then open the Preferences dialog
- Go to the General tab of the preferences dialog
- Click "Use Current Pages" to set the tabs as home pages
- Change the option "When Firefox starts" to ""Show my home page"
You can also do this by using the Session Manager add-on which allows you to save multiple sessions - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/session-manager/

Thanks, that works. I also discovered the world of plugins, and have installed SessionManager, which does exactly what I need.
