when making an online purchase and paying by credit card, the credit card site prompts for additional verification information. When I enter this, instead of entering the verification process, Firefox returns me to the merchant log in page. I have experienced this on two merchant separate sites and have had to re-enter and complete the purchase using Opera.

Banking institutions don't support BETA versions of any browser. Firefox 5.0 is slated for release at the earliest on June 21.

Install the current version which is 4.0.1 in order to use it for financial transactions.

Thanks, but what a disappointment! I thought you were at release stage, but it would be nice to know the problem was recognised and in hand.

Cheers Alan

You could use the Feedback button (or link on the Help menu) to report it just in case the developers aren't aware of the issue.
