In Firefox 4 and 5, you can choose to display/use the Firefox button or the Menu Bar; you question is in reference to displaying the Menu Bar.

To briefly display the Menu Bar when it is not displayed, press the ALT key or the F10 key and make your selections from the Menu Bar.

To toggle Menu Bar/Firefox button, do one of the following:

  • NOTE:
    • "Menu Bar" checked = Menu Bar on, Firefox button off
    • "Menu Bar" un-checked = Menu Bar off, Firefox button on
  • click the Firefox button > Options > Menu Bar (will un-check "Menu Bar" if checked or will check "Menu Bar" if un-checked)
  • using Menu Bar, click View > Toolbars > Menu Bar (same as described above)
  • keyboard shortcut: HOLD down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letters VTM
    • use the keyboard shortcut to quickly toggle between Menu Bar and Firefox button.
