That doesn't sound like a standard feature of Firefox, more like something added to Firefox by an add-on.

What did Firefox tell you was going to be disabled as not being compatible with Firefox 5.0 during the beginning of the update procedure?

{ Ctrl + Shft + A } -> Extensions = what is disabled there?
