How can I have search results shown in a new tab?
When I search for something, regardless of the search engine used the results of the search appear in the "active" tab. Is there a way to configure Firefox to automatically open a new tab and show the search results in that new tab? Yes, I can do it manually by opening a new tab, than doing the search, but it would be much more "user friendly" if this would be automatic. I use an Apple Mac Pro running Mac OSX 10.7

To avoid any extra keys or steps and to make the option of opening search results in a new tab (or not) easy and convenient, install this add-on:
As long as the check-mark is shown next to "Open in new tab", a new tab will open for the search results. Click on the Search Bar icon, left end, and click "Open in new tab" to check or un-check that option.
