How do I get Firefox to uninstall after a corrupted install? It keeps insisting on a re-start.
Installed an update to Firefox (8.0). Restarted. Came up with strange icon. Now insists on a restart to finish installing Firefox, but restart does not clear the problem.
Trying to uninstall from Control Panel results in same message and action.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.

Swarnava - See the image attached. I get this error message any time I try to: - Start Firefox - Uninstall Firefox from Control Panel
Note that Firefox never starts - just gives the error message.
So - I can't get to anything in Firefox to create a new profile. Restarting the computer (many, many times), then selecting Firefox, results in the same error message.
I'm sure I'm the cause of this, due to some confusion in the update process, but the installer has left me in a situation from which, I fear, I may never be able to recover.
