Windows 7, 64 bit. Experienced some Windows updates but I restored to prior to the updates and still cannot open Firefox. Can open Safari and IE.

There is a problem fairly soon in the process if profile manager will not start. You could try in Firefox's safe-mode next you could try in Windows safemode by using the F8 key.

From what you say I am wondering if you have done a Windows restore of some form and recreated Firefox that way. Firefox does not always restore properly from Windows. You may be looking at re-installing Firefox.

If you consider re-installing do NOT take any options from Windows or Firefox that offers to delete personal settings because that will destroy things like passwords and bookmarks.

I always like the simple first so I simply redownloaded Firefox...it worked. Nothing seems to be lost.

Glad it worked. Thanks for posting back.

Some may consider the the other options simpler!
