I don't know when it happened, as my wife has been using my laptop a lot. However I noticed now Xmarks no longer syncs bookmarks. I'm using Xmarks 4.1.0 and Firefox 14.0.1. I've gone into show all bookmarks, then into the Xmarks settings. It shows it's syncing, it lets me click the sync button, I even go to the "Advanced Tab" and do a "Manual Overwrite", it says it's downloading the bookmarks but again nothing. I'm pretty tech savvy, I've done all the obvious, I drilled down through all the folders in the bookmarks area, and nothing.

My last resort is to go to the Xmarks site and export my bookmarks to a file and then import them. However I don't want to have to do that every time I update my bookmarks, kinda defeats the point of syncing. Anyone else having this issue and/or know how to fix it?

Looks like a lot of user complaints about that addon recently.

Have you considered using Firefox Sync instead? It's built into Firefox, no addon needed.

Might work in a pinch, but I like the idea that it's cross browser in case I'm on a guest system and it's IE or Chrome.

Yep, Sync isn't cross-browser nor is it available from the web.

All I can suggest is Xmarks support for help with it.
