Advertisements from various webs keep opening in new tab, new window, and/or in the bottom right corner of screen, even when I'm not opening firefox. I have installed adblock plus 2.2.1 and page tweak1.0.5. I also have set the pop up blocker and I have set the privacy option (use customized settings for history and enter the web address of the advertisement) but none of them worked (advertisement from the web which I blocked also still opening).

FYI, my plugins are adobe acrobat 11.0.0.379, java deployment toolkit 7.0.70.10 10.7.2.10, java (tm) platform se 7 u9 10.9.2.5, Ms. office 2010 14.0.1761.1000, Ms. office 2010 14.0.4730.1010, quicktime plug-in 7.7.2 7.7.2.0, shockwave flash, 11.5.502.110, vlc web plugin 2.0.2.0, WacomtabletPlugin 2.1.0.2

I don't know what happened and what should I do next because the advertisement is very annoying esp. when I'm working on something else. Please help me.

hello ella, this sounds like an issue with adware/malware on your pc. from your description i'm not exactly sure if this is limited to firefox, because when this is also happening when firefox is closed it might have infected your system on a deeper level. please do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes.

also have a look in firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
