I am no longer able to play streaming audio from a local radio station using Firefox 17.0.1. I'm using flash player 10 because player 11 didn't work properly This radio station played correctly in the past with this setup. The problem just started happening in the last 2 days. What do I do to fix this?

Thanks for the help! Jim B.

Could you post a link to the radio station's website?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Cor-el, I figured out the docking issue. I spoke to soon on the listening issue. Immeadetally after resetting firefox I could listen to the station but, after customizing the browser to my liking (appearance issues only), the station wouldn't play.

I'm kinda dense so if you help me understand the instructions you posted above I'd appreciate it. Step by step would help.

If it weren't such a short walk, this would drive me crazy. I restarted with add ons disabled in safe mode. I was able to listen. I restarted with all add ons enabled and could still listen ok. Go figure... Jim

Which changes did you make to Firefox?

If you installed any extensions the try to disable them especially if you installed extensions like Adblock Plus or NoScript that can block content.

If you look at my 4:33 post you'll see I did that and the problem was solved.
