I downloaded Firefox 18.0.1, had a problem with a file that wouldn't close ("something".ini), rebooted the Mac, tried to open Firefox, couldn't and had to download it again. Now, no profile. Use all of your support workarounds, no dice. I need my profile, a lot of the work I do involves research and some of the stuff isn't replaceable. Please help! I promise to be better in the future.

Sounds like a problem with the profiles.ini file.

You can try to restore the profiles.ini file with the Time Machine if you haven't reset Firefox or otherwise created a new (default) profile already.

Thank you for responding - I tried to go to my timeline backup but the version of firefox was 14 - clearly operator error here.
