Type about:config in URL and search browser.startup.homepage and change the value to "Google.com"

  • Check for malware

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

I imagine you have some software/malware installed that is causing this problem and will need to be identified. A quick web search though does not show the linked site as itself being a problem.

Please read this article

Does the search reset addon at least temporarily solve the problem?

Part of the problem is that if it is for instance some toolbar plugin that is installed malware detecting tools may not find it because it is something some users will knowingly deliberately install, and if you inadvertently installed it then it may be difficult to identify what it is you installed.

I had this same exact problem for several days. It drove me nuts. I installed over 7 malware and AV software.

The solution is so simple: remove/uninstall a software called get back"EasyLink" and will never see that URL. Isn't annoying?!

Make sure you scan your machine using Kaspersky and MalwareBytes afterwards.

In addition to what I have proposed above, you need to install Spyware Doctor as it found 29 malware files related to the SAME malware. You can find the license for SD on YouTube.

Lastly, I highly recommend removing your ALL browsers from the machine (Firefox, IE and Google Chrome). Then, reinstalling them again

Thanks

Hello my friend, I also experienced that problem even i follow this steps:

Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and hit enter.Trash all the extensions. Open Chrome menu > Settings > On startup category > Open a new tab page. Open Chrome menu > Settings > Search category > Manage search engines > Google > Make default. Restart chrome. still the link will open as a start up link. Any how you must do the steps mention above and follow this steps: 1. Right click on the icon of your browser and click properties. 2. Then click the shortcut tab upper left of the window 3. Go to the Target Under the Target location, in the text box of it you can see this path "C:\Documents and Settings\Name of folder\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" http://www.myarabylinks.com/?SOMO3hp=12181320131408" 4. Change the link http://www.myarabylinks.com/?SOMO3hp=12181320131408" in to http//www.google.com so it must be like this "C:\Documents and Settings\ Name of folder \Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" http://www.google.com or delete it if you dont like to direct any link when you start open the browser. 5. And then Click Apply button lower right of window and open your browser.

So I hope it can helps those steps to all of you.
