I never get the installation wizard when I approve it in the Windows make change to computer dialog.

The installation wizard never starts. I select download then, Run then, Yes (to the windows dialog that allows you to approve the installation) and then nothing happens. I never get the Firefox installation wizard.

I am using Windows 7. I have Google Chrome installed.

Try restart your computer and try install Firefox again.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I really appreciate the fact that you would take the time and effort to help me - very kind and generous!

I tried restarting my computer as prescribed but, alas! The same thing still happens. What is also funny is that the extraction progress bar only goes to 61% before the the dialog closes and I must choose to continue installation. When I say 'yes', and then approve the change to my hard drive, nothing else happens.

I really would like to use FireFox (sick of the issues with Chrome and IE).

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps to install Firefox.
