I was wondering, is it somehow possible to view which bookmarks are synced with Firefox sync? Maybe somewhere in an online repository?

The reason I'm asking this, is because I'm having some problems exporting my bookmarks locally. When I go to my bookmarks and backup them as JSON or export them as HTML, and open the result in a text editor, only about 10% of my actual bookmarks is in those files, and the rest is just missing.

So, if Firefox isn't exporting them properly locally, I can't be certain everything is safely backed-up at Firefox Sync, and I would like to verify this by checking what is stored.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You will have to disconnect temporarily from Sync before trying to repair this places.sqlite file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thanks for the response, but mentioning that the bookmarks are not exporting correctly is just to tell the context behind my question.

What I want to know is: "Can I view which bookmarks are synced with Firefox sync?" Especially if I'm going to be messing with my places.sqlite, it would be nice to see what is backed up by Firefox Sync, and what isn't.

No. Sync uses a closed, encrypted process for transferring data. Bookmarks can't be viewed outside of Firefox.

It is best to backup your personal data locally because Sync isn't meant to be a backup device and if you rely on that then you will sooner or later run into trouble and lose your personal data.
