Why does FireFox redirect my website requests to another page forcing me to go back a page to get to the intended site? Is this new Adware? Not happy.

I can see in your details that you have addons from

  • Ask
  • Bing
  • Wajan
  • And also a user.js file

All of those are likely to affect your browsing behaviour. You may also have things that do not show including possibly malware.

Decide what you need and want. Uninstall what you can from the Firefox addons manager. Then check with the Windows Control Panel option to remove unwanted programs from there. Now scan with multiple and up to date malwaretools. Finally use the search Reset addon to reset Firefox search related options. Note if you have a Yahoo branded version of Firefox and you want to get rid of the Yahoo customisations you will probably need to reinstall Firefox.

Post back with how you get on saying what you have tried and what if any problems remain.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
