under tools I set to check but let me choose whether to install.

the next time i stasrted firefox it installed updates without asking. WTF

In one of the forums I go to I used to be able to hover my curser over a thumnail and it would open in a phantom window. great. but with latest version it no longer does this. NOT HAPPY.

WHY OH WHY cant it look at existing settings and use them when doing an update. ie: tabs below having to figure out how to change after a new update is not a good thing.

check but let me choose whether to install is not an absolute. If you miss seeing the notice about an available update, Firefox will time out while waiting for a response and install the update.

Tabs below is gone as Firefox 29. See this How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox
