64-bit Firefox for Windows
Is there any hope to get 64-bit Firefox for windows soon? My problem is Firefox + JDK/netbeans-bundle on 64-bit Windows 8. Everything else can be 64-bit, but Firefox. So Firefox wants 32-bit JRE for normal browsing, but installing 64-bit JDK replaces it with 64-bit that doesn't work on Firefox.
Installation of 32-bit JDK/NB-bundle on 64-bit Win8.1 crashes.
So it's either JDK/NB or Java-capable Firefox, but not both? Or is there a simple way to tell Firefox to look into another directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_20) when the other SW is looking into the default (C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_20) directory?
I know the problem has three parties: Microsoft, Oracle and Mozilla, but Mozilla seems to be the one with no "current" (64-bit) option.

SuperSluethe, please do not suggest that web site as it just links to a random 35.0a1 build from the Nightly development channel without any warning. This channel is bleeding edge and gets checkins almost every day so therefore they get a update each of those days.
Also for 64-bit Linux they can get the clean ones from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

I don't think Mozilla is planning a 64-bit version of Firefox. 32-bit programs normally work just fine on 64-bit systems with exceptions like yours, and maintaining both versions of Firefox would make it harder and slower for new versions to come out.
You can try www.firefox64bit.com, but I'm not sure how valid/recent/reliable this is.
There is this third-party 64 bit Firefox version.

For starters (and to add to our annoyance) there already are 64-bit Releases of Firefox for Linux and OSX. They have been around since Firefox 4.0 but Windows (the largest desktop market) has been forgotten.
Thats really is a bit nuts. As much as I love *nix OS's, LINUX is a tiny percent of the PC desktop world. Supporting them with a 64 bit version and not WINDOWS is about as smart as having a gas station that supplies :
- TESLA electrical connections for TESLA cars
- hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cell buses (there are a few of them out there)
- BUT - does not sell gasoline or LPG fuel.
64 bit Windows has been around for some time now. Will the folk at Mozilla care to join the 21st century with the rest of us? Or perhaps they would prefer going backward ... recompile their windows code so it is only available as a 8 bit application (after all "it will work") and while they are at it they can go back to a text only browser, and then next quarter they can opt out of that scary electricity stuff, and consider opting out on silly notions like "FIRE" and the "WHEEL" too
A 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows is slated for Firefox 37 or there-about.
Of course this thread was started before the plans for making Win64 for Release was revealed.
